O.J. Simpson dies, a polarizing figure in NFL history, has passed away in Las Vegas. The announcement of the former star’s death at the age of 76 was made by his family on X, citing cancer as the cause.
“On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, lost his battle with cancer. He passed away surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this difficult time, the family kindly requests privacy and compassion,” the statement read.
Simpson, known for his controversial legacy, was famously acquitted in the highly publicized 1994 slayings of his ex-wife and her friend.
