In a recent tweet, reality TV personality Ijeoma Josephine Otabor, known as Phyna, aired her grievances against the organizers of the popular reality show BBNaija.
Phyna, the winner of BBNaija’s seventh season in October 2022, used her official profile on the renowned microblogging platform, formerly known as Twitter, to claim that the program has not fulfilled its commitment to her in terms of prizes and money. Notably, Phyna clinched the grand prize of N100 million, consisting of N50 million in cash and additional rewards from the show’s sponsors.
However, in 2023, BBNaija launched the eighth season, themed “All Stars,” where past housemates reunited in the house, and Ilebaye emerged as the winner. Ilebaye, a self-proclaimed Gen Z-baddie from Kogi State, walked away with a grand prize of N120 million.
In a recent revelation, Ilebaye disclosed that she has yet to access the N120 million awarded to her by the show’s organizers.
In light of these developments, the reality show has announced the return of a new season, Season 9, with auditions already underway.
In response to this announcement, Phyna took a swipe at the BBNaija organizers for failing to fulfill their obligations to her since 2022 while proceeding with a new season in 2024
Phyna wrote;
“New show, Winner of season 7 nor see all her prizes and money Well lemme mind my business before them go talk say I don go bite their hand…. It is well.”
