Senator John Enoh, the Minister of Sports, has provided assurance to Nigerians that within the next one or two weeks, the Super Eagles will secure a new coach. While Finidi George has been overseeing the team on an interim basis, the Nigeria Football Federation is actively seeking a suitable replacement for Jose Peseiro, whose contract concluded in February.
Senator Enoh emphasized the importance of promptly appointing a coach, especially with upcoming qualifiers in June, acknowledging the expectations of the Nigerian football community. Reflecting on recent draws in the World Cup qualifiers, Enoh stressed the nation’s determination to avoid missing out on another World Cup, highlighting the need for comprehensive action.
