Abia govt. initiates distribution of FG palliatives to civil servants. To alleviate the hardships faced by workers, the Abia State government has initiated the distribution of federal government palliatives to lower-grade civil servants in the state. The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Okey Kanu, made this announcement during a press briefing following the State Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Alex Otti.
Initially, the government anticipated receiving sixty thousand 25kg bags of rice from the federal government. However, only twenty-four thousand bags were received. These rice supplies are being distributed to civil servants ranging from salary grade levels one to seven to alleviate their economic challenges.
Additionally, the expected delivery of 36,000 bags of rice will be allocated to civil servants on Grade Levels eight to ten once received.
