Iranian airports resume operations. Airports across Iran, including those in Tehran, resumed operations on Monday following a temporary suspension due to heightened tensions resulting from an aerial attack on Arch for Israel.
Iran launched its first-ever direct attack on Israeli territory late Saturday, using drones and missiles in retaliation for an April 1 airstrike on Tehran’s consulate in Damascus, attributed to Israel.
According to the official IRNA news agency, flights at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport returned to normal by 6:00 am local time.
Additionally, domestic airports such as Mehrabad in Tehran, as well as those in Tabriz, Mashhad, and Shiraz, are reported to be operating as scheduled.
Concerns over potential Israeli reprisals led some airlines to suspend flights to the region. Lufthansa, for example, halted its flights to and from Iran, while Qantas rerouted planes to avoid Iranian airspace.
The attack also prompted neighboring countries like Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq to temporarily close their airspace overnight from Saturday to Sunday. However, these countries have since reopened their airspace.
