WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has made it clear that there’s no animosity between him and Anthony Joshua. In fact, Fury expressed his willingness to sit down for a meal with Joshua to demonstrate their amicable relationship, as reported by PUNCH Sports Extra.
Despite years of rivalry and anticipation for a Battle of Britain showdown, Tyson Fury downplayed any notion of a feud, stating, “What, because I called him a sausage? Has he ever said anything bad to me that’s personal, or me to him? If he was here now, we’d go for a beer and a jam sandwich, or I’d take him out for fish and chips. I’d take him back to my house to meet my kids and take a picture. What, you think there’s bad blood between two boxers? Behave yourself.”
Joshua once revealed instances of Tyson Fury calling him to boast about knocking him out, but Fury insists these exchanges were all part of the sport. Meanwhile, Joshua has mentioned using these verbal exchanges as motivation for a fierce performance when they eventually meet in the ring.
Fury, aged 34, is coming off four consecutive victories, including a recent knockout win over MMA star Francis Ngannou in March. Ngannou had previously dropped Fury in their October bout, albeit in a contentious split decision.
Looking ahead, Fury gears up for potential matches against Oleksandr Usyk, starting with their May 18 unification fight. Joshua, on the other hand, eagerly awaits the opportunity to face Fury for the heavyweight title if Fury prevails in his upcoming bouts.
